This will return information such as how many codes are installed, what version of Office the code is for, the license status and the last 5 digits of the installed code.

If you notice that there are two active codes, remove the inactive code.

**Step 4:** Remove inactive code with the command:

cscript OSPP.VBS /unpkey:XXXXX

Replace “XXXXX” with the last 5 digits of the code to be removed.

**Step 5:** Insert a new code with the command:

cscript OSPP.VBS /inpkey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Replace “XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX” with the new code.

**Step 6:** Activate the new code with the command:

cscript OSPP.VBS /act

This procedure works for all common versions of Office up to version 2021 (Office 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021).

If you encounter problems with an OEM key, Microsoft has provided a generic key that can be used for upgrading:

If Windows displays an error, such as error code 0x803fa067, repeat the process and temporarily disconnect from the internet, for example by removing the LAN cable, disabling the LAN adapter, or turning off Wi-Fi. Then re-enter the code.

– Disconnect the internet connection (remove the network cable or disable Wi-Fi).

– Press WIN+R and enter “SLUI” into the text field. The activation wizard should open. Enter your upgrade key and/or your Windows 10 Pro product key sent via email.

Done. Windows 10/11 Pro should now be activated.

To activate your Windows 10 or Windows 11 via command prompt, open the command prompt as administrator.
